The city of Toronto is world renowned for the myriad of culture & sounds which have influenced the upbringing of drummer, percussionist & composer, Anthony Daniel.
Born and raised in the east end to a Chilean mother and Polish father, multiculturalism was no stranger to Anthony’s childhood. It was this characteristic that helped shape the individuality that created a profound sense of musical diversity from a young age. As a child, the piano always caught Anthony’s attention – and as a curious developing musician, the piano was never too far out of reach. However, something about the drum set surpassed all other instruments, and it was what he strived to study beyond anything else.
Having studied at the University of Toronto, and eventually completing a music degree at the prestigious ‘School of Creative and Performing Arts’ at Humber College, it was here where Anthony focused on improving his craft as a musician and drummer. Anthony's interests surpassed what was available in Toronto, and eventually began travels to the United States, Brazil, Asia, and Cuba.
Anthony can be seen performing with 2018 Juno-nominated band the Battle of Santiago, who just recently completed a European tour (Spain, France, Amsterdam). Among the many groups Anthony is a part of, he has had the distinct pleasure of sharing music & stages with incomparable musicians including but not limited to OKAN (Grammy&Juno nominees), Roberto Occhipinti, Alexis Baro, Dave Young (Order of Canada recipient), Son Ache, Luis Deniz, Hilario Duran (Juno award winner), Freddy Torrealba (Inti-Illamani), Roberto Riveron (Latin-Grammy award winner), Sean Bellaviti, & Alexander Brown, amongst many others.
